The following letter was sent home today!
We will have a parent meeting for the 20 finalist who will go on to compete at the Science Olympiad in Watkinsville on March 28. The meeting will be March 23 at 4:45; which is our regular scheduled practice. At this meeting, you will get information about the competition as well as the travel arrangements.
Due to sports games and other activities, we are moving this to March 19 during our regularly scheduled practice! The following events will be tested:
Starry, Starry Night Paper Rocket Which Way is North Leaf and Tree Finder Straw Tower Build a Graph Doug Colwell from Vulcan came to talk to Olympiad students about how they get the rock out of the ground. He also talked about the quarry and the types of rock found here in Blairsville, GA. The rock obtained from this quarry is used all over. We learned that rocks at Vulcan are tested to see if they are good rock or bad rock.
